Billing Coordinator/Accounting Assistant
This position is intended for someone who is primarily engaged in helping support firm finance management. That said, as a small law firm with limited staff, there will be times when we will need and expect the person in this position to pitch in and assist with other tasks.
The ideal candidate for this position is hard-working and detail oriented, has a positive attitude, and is very organized with the ability to multi-task and balance a wide range of responsibilities. Some of the primary responsibilities of this position include: assisting firm management with AP/AR management including: preparing and processing client invoices, coordinating with remote bookkeepers, managing client collections, tracking trust accounting, keeping firm finance records organized and current; assisting with month and year end close procedures; documenting finance procedures; assisting with financial record audits and reconciliation projects; managing firm purchases to a budget; as well as assisting with a wide range of ancillary administrative support functions.
Three + years of experience in AP, AR, and/or general accounting data entry
Works well under pressure and has a high level of attention to detail
Consistently demonstrates complete “ownership” mentality for assigned areas/projects/tasks
Collaborative team player with excellent listening and communication skills
Ability to work independently and use time efficiently
Strong client-relationship skills as well as the ability to use judgment, tact, discretion, and keep information confidential
High level of experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience working in a law firm and understanding accounting in the law firm context
AA, BA, or BS in Accounting or Finance
